OK.. this one if going to sellout very quickly. So act now.. or it will be gone.
This is a photograph by a MAO favorite artist... Catherine Opie.
You probably saw Catherine Opie's huge blockbuster solo show at the Guggenheim Museum last year, or bought her amazing photobook.. Catherine Opie American Photographer.
Anyway.. Catherine Opie is possibly one of the most important American photographers of her generation, MAO frequently thinks of her as the Walker Evans of the 21st Century. No matter if you love her work or not.. every viewer MAO knows will certainly have something to say once you've seen Catherine Opie's photographs. Which is always one of the marks of an important artist. Only time will tell.
For MAO, Catherine has truly been the voice and eyes of the new generation in contemporary art photography. Her work is always loaded with powerful social and political punches. Which is exactly what makes this particular photo super striking.
Actually, MAO was a bit shocked our friends at Aperture didn't tell us about this in new limited edition in advance, but MAO was luckily enough to be tipped off today by a very kind devoted blog reader.Thank You.. Thank You.. THANK YOU!!
This is an amazing deal, at only $650, and this image will go up in price very quickly as the edition sells out.
FYI.. Catherine Opie prints sell for huge amounts of money! MAO thinks the last ones we saw at an art fair were starting at $9,000 for similar size images. Plus this is a great powerful and political image by Catherine Opie. An image... so very "Of our Time!" We loved it, and can't wait to see if Catherine has done more work like this. Buy it here...NOW! You won't regret it.
